The exhibition shows artefacts which are mainly from the region of Baden, which is on the eastern side of the Rhine valley. In this room there are selected objects from the early cultural history of this region, from the Neanderthal man to the early Germanic people. The exhibits ranges from a Palaeolithic hand-axe, Neolithic clay jars, jewellery of the Urnfield culture, finds from the Hallstatt and La Tène periods to evidence of Germanic culture.
