Visitor orientation: a critical tool for museums and cultural institutions
In our society, there are more cultural activities to choose from than ever, which means there is greater competition for visitors' support and time. Due to the increasing financial pressure on cultural institutions as well, museums now focus all of their efforts on their visitors.
It is just as important to understand the visitors' profile, needs and expectations as it is to learn how satisfied they were with the museum. Many cultural institutions, however, lack the methodical tools and practical means needed to address such issues and collect the necessary data. This is why the Centre for Evaluation and Visitor Research has focused on this task.
