Research and projects

The Badisches Landesmuseum fulfils the traditional tasks of a museum as a place for collecting, preserving, indexing, researching, and exhibiting objects of cultural and historical importance. In cooperation with universities and scientific institutions, the museum initiates digital and analogue research projects. The museum publishes its holdings in printed catalogues as well as in the digital catalogue. Since January 2010, the Badisches Landesmuseum has been conducting intensive provenance research to check the acquisitions for possible unlawful seizure during the Nazi regime. In addition, the South Baden branch office serves as a research centre and archive for the folklore of Baden.
