Museum at the Market Square
On the first floor of the Museum at the Market Square, the history of design unfolds: Across approximately 900 square meters, outstanding objects sharpen our senses for the aesthetics of our everyday lives and illustrate the intricate interplay of art, craft, and design. The tour begins with applied arts around 1900, the Art Nouveau period, and leads to the present day. Visitors can admire precious glasswork, exquisite furniture, fashion classics, and jewelry. While the first floor showcases a portion of the fascinating collection of the Badisches Landesmuseum, the ground floor—freely accessible and without admission—serves as an open space for everyone: for those curious about the history, present, and future of their museum, or who simply wish to meet and exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere. A newly designed museum shop, with its diverse selection, also invites browsing and discovery.
