Museum etiquette

Welcome to the Badisches Landesmuseum!

In order to make your visit with us as pleasant and safe as possible, we kindly ask you to consider the following points:

Cloakroom
For clothes, bags, rucksacks, and umbrellas, you can use the cloakroom in the foyer or the lockers in the basement. Please understand that for security reasons, rucksacks and bags of all types and sizes as well as coats and jackets must be checked. If you need to transport valuables and medicines, you can obtain a carrier bag from the cloakroom.

Museum
Smoking is prohibited throughout the museum. Eating, drinking, and carrying liquids is not permitted. Animals are not allowed (except guide dogs). Please switch your mobile phone to silent and go to the stairwell if you must make a phone call. Please show consideration for other visitors and behave in such a way that nobody feels disturbed. Avoid running and frolicking. Parents shall be held responsible for their children. Teachers have a duty to supervise their students. Exhibits, models, and other items may only be touched if this is expressly permitted.

Supervisory staff
The supervisory staff are instructed to ensure that the house rules are observed. Therefore, the instructions of the supervisory staff must be followed. Otherwise, the persons concerned will be asked to leave the premises.

Photography
Photography without flash, tripods, or selfie sticks is allowed for private purposes. However, photography is prohibited in accordingly marked exhibits. Please contact the supervisory staff.

Parents with babies and toddlers
For safety reasons, the use of outside prams is not permitted in the exhibition rooms. Prams and buggies can be rented free of charge. Diaper-changing stations with free diapers and wet wipes are available in the collection and special exhibitions.

Palace courtyard
The use of in-line skates, skateboards, bicycles, scooters, or similar in the courtyard or on the ramps and stairways of the palace endangers other people and is therefore not permitted.

Respecting each other
We ask that all people in the house treat each other respectfully, as well as the objects and eras presented.

We thank you for your understanding and wish you a pleasant stay in the Badisches Landesmuseum!
